Everyone by now has heard Pharrell's catchy and uplifting tune HAPPY. Yes, perhaps it has been overplayed on radio stations and somewhat overexposed via social media.
Nevertheless, it has spread a very simple and delightful message across the world: it feels good to be Happy!!
It's what we strive for in life. The big things, the little things, the simple things - whatever brings you that good-all-over warm and fuzzy feeling - it's about embracing it!
Some time ago I had this idea about a "Happiness Campaign" that would make people smile and feel a little happier, even for just a moment.
With all the terrible things going on in the world and personal daily stresses, we often forget to enjoy all the little things in life. And so I thought..it's a paradox of sorts, that we are frequently reminded of how bad things are around us ( turn on any news channel) and so seldom reminded that Life isn't Perfect but it's Really Good. Most of us are more blessed than we realize. And if we realize it, we forget quickly.
So... instead of reminding ourselves or others about small and often inconsequential things like appointments or phone numbers, lets use those Post-it notes to remind ourselves and others of all the Happy things in life.
Lets leave notes that encourage, that inspire, that make you think, that make you smile, and most of all that make you happy!!
Grocery stores, gas stations, public bathrooms, your friends house, your workplace, your doctor's office -anywhere and everywhere, say something nice ! Whether it's silly or serious, a quote or a question, a compliment or a thank you - it doesn't matter..but lets help fill this world with a few more nice words, a few more nice thoughts - we can all use them :)
And maybe one day, you go someplace and see a note from someone else..
You might think "hey it's that Post-it thing"
But you will smile, even if it's just a little... sometimes a little is all you need:)
Happy posting everyone! Lets spread the word!!!
Use #Whynotsaysomethingnice to post pics of your own post-its, share it with your friends and family and start a conversation about what it means to BE happy.
Sincerely,
Happy Camper
